I am really disappointed by this Microsoft product. Though MS Office 2007 has good and improved features. But I still found it most inconvenient office software.
I would still rate Office 2003 higher than office 2007.
Even latest office has completely different extensions which makes it more inconvenient.
Do you find the similar difficulties while using MS office 2007.

2007 really has some good features, but as for compatibity and user-freindly interface, its a big step backwards.
secifically, trying to simply format text and setting options can be a monumental pursuit of fox and hound...... as in "where the &#@! did they put that" another goodie is trying to open a 2007 document in 2003 that was not specifically saved in 97-2003 format.... well its not really just the format.... 2007 new format for .doc is .docx ....2003 doesn't even know its MS Word doc.

I have Office 07 and though the graphics are a big step forward, i agree it is very confusing at first. Though, it does get easier after time. Not much :P

i was a big beta tester for office 2007 but i dont have it on my computers at the moment :)thats because after helping them with the beta you now have the priveliage of paying full retail for your own licsence..... its like if they have 5,000 beta testers they figure at product launch they will at least have 5,000 new customers :hammer:

yes, microsoft office 2007 is a huge disappointment in regard to average users. Office 2003 was and is way better than office 2007.
though the interface looks/feels nice in first go, it's hard to go around using the app. :(
and speed is crucial in office applications along with ease of use!

just the office 2007 application crashes or the windows crashes? you are using it on vista or microsoft windows XP? try repairing the office 2007 setup, and check the system fonts.
re-installing the office may help after a thorough registry cleaner (scan)!

sending word docs to people is frustrating as they can never open them. i still have to save everything in the old format.

MS Office 2007 isn't that good, 2005 was far better, 2007 is too complicated.

it is little bit confusing but it is not as much as we think as we start using it we can make out easily and we find easy by using it for more time once we understand we can save lot of time

In the beginning, you will face a few problems adopting urself to office 2007, but once you are used to it, I dont think you can have any problems with it.

I don't like 2007 either. Until I got my new laptop I have still been using 2003 and am perfectly happy with it.
When I got my new laptop in June 2008 I didn't even bother to install 2003 I just used openoffice and that is fine for me.

I know it looks nice, but to do the simple tasks that can so easily be done in Office 2003, they are so more complicated to find in 2007, the other day one of my colleagues asked me how to share a workbook and I had to look it up, because there are no menus like there are in 2003, its frustrating.

If you feel microsoft office confusing and doesn't like it 100% try out openoffice which is an open source software with as good features as MS office.

my experience with the new MS Office 07 products as well but I think that its a bit different. Its a new approach to the way the things are arranged and it gives a much better look to the old Word layout. I will agree that it is tough to find some of the features but the tabs make it alot easier than having to dig through tons of menus. Really it boils down to what your comfortable with, if the old layout of Word 97-2003 suits you just fine then I would say stick with that.
