Hello

We have been running a user clean up on the forum to delete all the spam, bot or other users.

We have deleted all users who have not verified there email address and have been registered for over 7 days.

Other users deleted are ones with spam words in their names such as xxx, viagra etc.

We are also planning to upgrade the forum software to vBulletin 3.8 which was released recently. We are just waiting to hear back from the custom template developer who will get our template working in the latest version of vBulletin then we will go through with the upgrade.

Well you see the thing is we used to get tonnes of spam. So I set up a simple plugin that meant users could not posts links until they made at least 15 posts. This stopped all the spam posts but we still got thousands of spam members joining then leaving since they couldn't make spam posts.

When the vBulletin 3.8 upgrade is done I have also hired someone to set up a lot of spam prevention software that will just stop spam bots and stop all spam even from registering.

I can't stand spammers. What kind of person goes around trying to spoil fun, useful communities like this.
