I've been thinking about this and as i've got a new microphone and also i've gained some great experience with podcasting and i'm the podcaster of thevistaforums podcasts - ME (http://thevistaforums.com/index.php?showuser=31137) and Podcasts (http://podcast.thevistaforums.com), it would be really nice to make a podcasts here on CompuTalk as well. OS Master already told me that he is great with producing and can put it all together so we shouldn't have any problems with it! Just tell me what do you think about the idea and if you like it we can schedule the time and make some shownotes and make the podcast! This should be a lot of fun! Everyone can participate in the podcast! Just tell us if you're interested! Cheers!

I think it's a great idea, as long as I don't have a speaking role :D. QueenZ and I were just talking about it.

I wouldn't mind handling the technicalities of the podcast. I'll just fetch the audio files, mix them into a file, compress the file, upload the file, update the RSS feed so everyone can be notified, and the publicize the podcast.

How about a podcast section on the forum for all podcasters to schedule the next show and make some show notes..? Hopefully Calum can make it..

Yeah, he can use the RSS Poster bot to automatically post in that forum when there is a new podcast.

It does sound like a great idea, if you two and maybe some others are happy to go ahead with the idea then I would be happy to set up a podcasts part of the site, though I wont have enough time to produce any myself.

Yeah, basically the forum you set-up will have posts made by a bot (using the RSS feed).

This is still in development on my part, since I'm Producer.

Ok, I will get things sorted out. I am not into all this A/V stuff, so I can't really help. What parts will everyone be playing in the production and making of the podcast?

I will get a forum set up, one for the podcasts, one for podcaster discussion and one for members of the podcasting group to discuss stuff.

Would you be able to explain about the RSS, you mean like we had in the news forum?

Also, the above is just ideas, say if anything sounds out and give any ideas.

OK, so one of us is gonna be the host (the one with the best internet connection). We are gonna make a skype conference call and record it. Then we are gonna add some music and do a little mixing and whola! But we really need some participants first so they can send in their stories an topics to talk about in the podcast...

I will not have a speaking role, but will be recording the podcast. I'm not sure how to add a good introduction and music. Calum, you will have to use the blog for the podcast (or a new blog). The RSS feed will then be added to Feedburner and other podcasting websites.

I doubt I could help you guys with it...never done podcast's before. I'm usually just the viewer.

devoted_eva, if i can do it, everyone can do this! It's not that hard.. You just need to talk about some interesting stuff... isn't that what you do everyday with your friends? It's really easy! :) It's gonna be a lot of fun!
