Depending on how your network is set up typing "ipconfig" sometimes will work.
It's easier and more reliable just to open your browser and go to whatsmyip.org (http://whatsmyip.org)

@loraandbush: what type of ip are we talking about? if its the private internal IP of your computer, the IPconfig command paul mentioned will yeild that the easiest.
you can exand the command a bit by useing ipconfig /all and it will yeild IP address, dns servers, wins (if present) and your gateway (router).
if you are talking about your public... or internet address, then use pauls link.

The easiest way is probably just the visit a site like www.ipchicken.com or similar.

Yeah, pauls is good because the plain text result is quick and easy and could probably be used by a script.

If you're wondering why I've PB'd loraandbush & kurtandbrown they're the same member, it was the "and" in both usernames that gave it away :detective:

I had a post on here somewhere explaining how multiple people can have the same IP. I guess it somehow got deleted.
But I leave such matters to greater minds than mine :)

But I leave such matters to greater minds than mine :)very valid point... at this particular work location, we have 150 people nating through the same public IP.
thats the trick... finding lots of little pieces to put it all together... while non of these alone is in my opinion, enough evidence... when you put all the pieces together you may be able to start seeing a high enough probability to act! ...such is apparantly the case here.

Windows XP, without using the command prompt:
From the Start menu, right-click My Network Places, and then click Properties.
To view the IP address of a wired connection, double-click Local Area Connection.
To view the IP address of a wireless adapter, double-click Wireless Network Connection.
Click the Support tab, and then click Details. The window that appears will display the IP address.
